Talk Therapy

Some people come to therapy with specific goals and issues in mind or with a current mental health diagnosis. Many people come to therapy without a diagnosis of mental illness. They come for help adjusting to circumstances, to discuss problems and talk through decisions, to examine patterns and think about relationships, to process feelings & more.

Whether you are showing up with specific goals or simply with a desire to identify those goals, give yourself credit for doing the work of showing up. Each session will be tailored to your unique preferences & needs because, after all, you are the expert on your own life. I take a holistic approach to therapy and truly believe that every person is equipped with the strength & ability necessary to meet all that life brings with inner peace and confidence. Sometimes we just need a little support in illuminating that within ourselves.

We may explore things like meditation, breath-work, yoga, grounding practices, cognitive coping skills & various exercises for regulating the nervous system.

Sound Bath

Crystal Sound Bowls

Sound. Music. Rhythm. Melody. Harmony. Silence.

Sound offers us an opportunity to tune-in & tune-up, to simply pause, find rest, just “be” or perhaps experience deep, whole-body listening on a cellular level. There is no “right way” to receive a sound bath; you need only to exist in each moment, as the restorative, supportive effects of sound happen without prompting- naturally. After all, the wisdom of rhythm is (and always will be) in and around us just waiting for us to tune-in; we feel it through heartbeat, breath, walking & even rocking. We are music.

Research has shown that sound is a catalyst for the release of “feel-good chemicals” (endorphins).
Drumming in particular has been found to reduce stress and improve immune function.

Sound Bath opportunities are offered at least once monthly. Sound is offered through Crystal Sound Bowls, various drums, chimes & more. Look out for announcements on social media! Space is limited. Click here for upcoming offerings.

If you would like to schedule a private, individually-curated group or 1:1 Sound Bath, please reach out via this link or the Contact page on my website.

EMDR Therapy

EMDR is a psychotherapy approach that employs an eight-phase model of treatment to address the full range of symptoms caused or exacerbated by prior negative experiences.

If we understand that traumas and negative memories of adverse situations can be stored in a maladaptive form in the brain networks, then we can begin to understand how EMDR can reprocess these fears, phobias, terrors, and anxieties that are connected to painful memories that keep individuals feeling trapped by these issues from the past.

The thing that EMDR therapy does so beautifully is to remove the barrier so that a person can begin connecting the positives and safety of the present with the pain of the past. This —the facilitation of access and integration of memory information—is an integral part of standard EMDR procedures.

In addition to the treatment of PTSD, EMDR is also used to treat the psychological effects of smaller traumas that manifest in symptoms of depression, anxiety, phobias, low self-esteem, creativity blocks, and relationship difficulties.
